Am i Indifferent?
     In the latest Newsletter, Edition 146, i noted something in the Spiritoon
that i’ve been stumbling across in many references; it was a notation on
getting rid of the rubbish and it included “Indifference”. I’ve seen it used
this way before as though “indifference” is something undesirable.
     Decades ago, when i was young man, people would ask, “What’s your favorite color?” My answer then was, “My favorite color is blue”. But through the years, something happened; i realized i truly had no favorite color; they are all magnificent.
So then i question, did i become indifferent?
     And as a younger man, through the years of selecting flowers to plant, pansies were always my first choice, my favored choice. But through the years something happened; now i cannot find a garden big enough to hold all the wonderful flowers available. That garden would need
to be from tropical to arid and everything in between.
So then i question, did i become indifferent?
     And as a younger man, i strove toward, but never achieved perfection. But through the years something happened; now everything is perfect.
So then i question, did i become indifferent?
     And as a younger man, i never quite bought into the whole good and evil thing, but i still looked at things as good and bad. But through the years something happened; now everything just “is”; it is neither good nor bad; it just is.
So then i question, did i become indifferent?
     And then of course i laugh, this week’s teaching: The unawakened one is full of questions about oneself. And then i laugh more; the questions, they are all just a mind game.
I am neither those questions nor those labels;
I am that i am and the questions do not matter.
